What ScanSoft OmniPage Search Indexer 1.0 do/not do? |
| A. |
|
- It uses ScanSoft's world-leading optical character OCR and PDF conversion
technology to quickly create accurate index information from image-based
content. It does this by finding all of the text on every page of a
document.
- It does provide access to the unformatted text in a converted document,
without graphics or images, via the Cache link on the Google Desktop
Search results page.
- It does not change the original, nor does it turn image PDF into
Image+Text PDF. Use ScanSoft OmniPage Pro Office 14 to create searchable
PDF's.
- It does not save as any format. It creates an index that is proprietary
to the Google Desktop Search database.

content into fully-formatted documents that you can edit.
